i’m it… apparently
I’ve been tagged. The rules, as explained by the tagger, are as follows:
1. Pick up the nearest book.
2. turn to page 123.
3. find the 5th sentence.
4. post the next 3 sentences.
5. tag 5 people.
Well, are you ready for some Malcolm X? Yes, I have been reading for my world lit class, but that book is a foot away, and Malcolm is closer. (I’ve been alternating between Dostoevsky and Malcolm).
“White girls were in some of the varous Harlem specialty places. They would participate in customers’ most frequent exhibition requests — a sleek, black Negro male having a white woman. Was this the white man wanting to witness his deepest sexual fear?”
I can’t wait to see what kind of inappropriate links I get from that.
This passage comes from the period of his life when he was working as a street hustler in Harlem, before he went to jail, before he joined the NOI, before he discovered worldwide Islam.
So now I have to tag people, and I suppose there are no tagbacks. So, my taggees are: Bookwyrme’s Lair, April’s blog, Lake Neuron, the candidate, and the Yarn Harlot.

Quoted, posted, and passed on.
Ok, I followed instructions as well….wish it were more worthy of “literary love”!
